Deidre Staples is a Memphis native who bleeds BBQ and Grit n’ Grinds, mane. As a student athlete she was a competitive volleyball player, gymnast, and was nationally ranked in track and field. She is a classically trained pianist and french hornist, winning awards and competitions in both. After graduating Howard University, she studied Zulu in South Africa through the Fulbright Hays- Zulu Group Project Abroad.
The DC based actor has worked with many theaters including Studio Theatre, Adventure Theatre, Theatre Alliance, Olney Theatre Center, Atlas Performing Arts Center, and the Kennedy Center. She was a company member of the National Players Tour 70 and in February 2020 wrote, performed, and produced her solo show, WHITE-ISH, at the Atlas Intersections Festival.
